Sonny Kay is a visual artist and musician. His artwork has featured on some very progressive band album covers, such as The Mars Volta, Le Butcherettes, The Glitch Mob, Sun Ra, and various others. He has had a rich history of being involved with music and the arts, having gained a degree in Fine Art, founding Gold Standard Laboratories record label, and then working as Art Director for Rodriguez Lopez Productions and also for record label Sargent House.
Kay’s work is a cosmic collage of found imagery in which he creates (with great hi-res detail) compositions telling stories from other dimensions, on a journey to discover the soul and mystery of life. There are themes of social, political, spiritual, the past/present/future all entwined in what can sometimes feel like an atheistical wonder whilst also containing multiple levels of commentary and symbolic ideas.
