Alana Dee Haynes has been a practicing visual artist for 21 years. She has a love affair with mixed media, feeling that one specific type doesn’t fulfill her creative needs. Haynes takes existing advertisements and editorials for fashion and beauty spreads, and then draws on them, herself, creating “remixed” and new images. She feels this adds to the story already told by the photograph itself, and she notices that the designs are essentially “waiting” in the photographs – that she is just coaxing them out. She is an aspiring tattoo artist and fashion designer.
Haynes is currently based out of Brooklyn, New York.
